Our biomarkers have been derived from a large survey of gene expression changes that are present in prostate cancer cells (Stuart paper). In addition to applying steps to enrich for cancer-specific expression changes we have applied unique "filter" algorithms to discern a meaningful biomarker set that detects prostate cancer with high accuracy:
- Normalized for cell-type specific expression (Yipeng paper, Cancer Research)
- Corrected for age-related expression changes
- Identified cancer-specific markers expressed in the tumor micro-environment (stroma)
- High contrast Immunofluorescence and H&E readout
- Digital image acquisition and storage
- Proprietary histocytometric analysis
